How to care for your garments For all NunoOrganic garments, we recommend a liquid, biodegradable washing detergent. To extend the life of your garments, please follow the specific instructions found inside each item. Organic Cotton Launder cotton garments in the washing machine using the warm cycle. Cotton can be washed hot, but warm wash is more environmentally sound.
Organic Linen Linen items can be washed warm in the laundry machine on the hand wash/ delicate program with gentle/ slow spin cycle. Do not wash with hot water, or tumble dry. Linen can also be dry cleaned. Organic Wool and Silk Wool and silk garments should be washed only when necessary. Often it is fully sufficient to air the garment. When necessary, follow the laundry instructions for your garment. Be sure to use plenty of lukewarm water for both wash and rinse. Wool can shrink by both cold and hot shock. Use only the slow/ gentle spin cycle and leave the garment flat to dry. Do not wash on hot or tumble dry. Pure wool contains a lot of lanoline and is partly self cleaning. Wool and silk can also be dry cleaned. Bleach Bleach should be used only on light textiles that have turned grey. As an alternative to bleach, we suggest that you can hang light-colored clothing outside in the sun and use the UV-rays of the sun as natural bleach. Moth Protection Considering the safety and health of your children, NunoOrganic does not use artificial moth protection on our garments. To avoid moths in your clothes, make sure that the clothes are clean before storing them. As a natural alternative to moth repellants, we suggest storing your garments with lavender or cedar wood. |
